What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to keep, and to send back on later visits. Most of ours are things the service cannot work without: knowing it is still you from one page to the next, and protecting forms from forgery. The only optional ones are Google Analytics cookies on our public pages, which are set only if you click Accept on the cookie banner.
Cookies we set
| Cookie | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
laravel-session | Your session: keeps you signed in between pages and remembers short-lived things like where to send you after sign-in. Encrypted and only readable by the server. | 2 hours after your last request |
XSRF-TOKEN | Protects every form and button from cross-site request forgery, so another site cannot act as you. | Same as the session |
ts_consent | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics cookies, so we don’t ask on every page. | 180 days |
remember_web_… | Only if you tick Remember me when signing in: lets you stay signed in after closing the browser. | Up to five years, or until you sign out or change your password |
Staff tools (the console and queue dashboard) use the same session cookie and are not reachable by customers.
Browser storage that isn’t a cookie
A few preferences live in your browser’s local storage instead: the light or dark theme you picked, whether you have finished the tour, and your town view settings (camera, sound, which panels are open). They stay on your device and are not sent to us as cookies. Clearing site data in your browser resets them.
Other companies
- Stripe sets its own cookies on its checkout and billing-portal pages, and may do so for fraud prevention when the billing page talks to Stripe. Those pages are governed by Stripe’s privacy policy; we only send workspace owners there when they choose to subscribe.
- Our fonts are loaded from Google Fonts. That is a plain file request to Google’s servers, which may log your IP address like any web request; it sets no cookies.
- Chat apps, publishing platforms and other services your workspace connects run on their own sites with their own cookies.
We do not use advertising networks, social media pixels, session recording or fingerprinting, and no third party sets tracking cookies through Taskshire.
Analytics
With your consent, we use Google Analytics on our public pages (the website, help centre, sign-up and sign-in) to understand how people find and use Taskshire: which pages are visited, where visitors come from, and roughly where in the world they are. It is not used inside your workspace, for advertising, or to build a profile of you, and IP addresses are anonymised.
| Cookie | What it does | Lasts |
|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics: tells visits from the same browser apart. | 2 years |
_ga_… | Google Analytics: keeps the state of the current visit. | 2 years |
These are set only after you click Accept analytics; until then nothing is loaded from Google. You can change your mind at any time with Cookie settings (also in the footer of every public page); declining removes the cookies. Google processes this data under its privacy policy.
Controlling cookies
Your browser lets you see, block and delete cookies (look under Privacy or Site settings). Blocking the session or XSRF cookie means you cannot sign in, because the service has no other way to know it is you. Leaving Remember me unticked avoids the long-lived cookie entirely.
Changes
If we add a cookie or start using analytics, we will update this page and its date. Questions go to privacy@taskshire.co.uk; see also the Privacy Policy.
