What you can bring in
- Any CSV file – every tool below can export one, and so can Excel or Google Sheets.
- A Trello board (JSON export) – lists, cards, descriptions, due dates, labels, members, checklists and comments. Archived cards arrive archived.
- An Asana project (JSON or CSV export) – sections, tasks, notes, due dates, assignees, tags and subtasks (as checklist items).
Files can be up to 5 MB and 5,000 tasks. For anything bigger, split the file and import each part.
Only project admins can import. You'll find it at Project settings → Import.
Get a file out of your old tool
- Trello – open the board, then Menu (…) → Print, export and share → Export as JSON. Save the page as a
.jsonfile. - Asana – open the project, click the arrow next to its name, then Export/Print → JSON (or CSV).
- Monday – open the board, click the … menu at the top right, then More actions → Export board to Excel. Open the file and save it as CSV.
- ClickUp – open a List view, click Customise (or the … menu), then Export view → CSV. Choose "Task names only" off so every column is included.
- Jira – run a search for the issues you want (Filters → View all issues), then Export → Export CSV (all fields).
- Notion – open the database, click … → Export, choose Markdown & CSV, and use the
.csvfile from the download.

- Upload. Choose the file and the board the tasks should go into. If your dates look like 12/31/2026 (month first), untick Dates are written day first.
- Match. For a CSV, check which column is the title, description, status, assignee, due date and so on. We guess for you; change anything that looks wrong. Then choose which stage each list, section or status belongs in. Anything you leave alone starts in the board's first stage.
- Check. Look over the first few tasks. Warnings tell you about dates we couldn't read and people we couldn't find.
- Import. A progress bar shows how far it has got. You can leave the page; the import carries on.
Good to know
- People. We match assignees by email address first, then by exact name, and only to people who are already members of the project. Nobody is invited automatically. Tasks for people we can't find are left unassigned and the names are listed for you, so you can invite them and assign the tasks afterwards.
- Labels. Labels that don't exist yet are created for you (up to 50 new labels per import) in a neutral colour. You can recolour them later.
- Priorities. Words like "highest", "critical", "medium" and "minor" are turned into low, normal, high or urgent. Anything else becomes normal.
- Comments. Trello comments are added in your name, with the original author and date quoted at the top.
- Quiet by design. An import doesn't send notifications, post to chat apps, call webhooks or set off automations.
- Skipped rows. A row with no title is skipped. The results screen lists every skipped row and why, and you can download them as a CSV, fix them and import just those.
Undo an import
Made a mistake? Open the import's results and choose Undo import. Every task that import created is moved to the bin. You can undo an import for 7 days after it finishes. Labels created by the import are kept.
